"Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us."
- We are surrounded by witnesses: Everyone around us is watching, to see how we live our God-life. They are looking for examples to follow, lessons to learn and errors to point out. - Throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entagles: It is not only sin that can be a hindrance. - Run with perseverance the race marked out for us: Even without knowing the definition of 'perseverance', one can conclude that it doesn't sound like a character that comes naturally. Perseverance involves an effort. We have to understand that we would expend some spiritual and maybe physical energy in running this race.
Thank God that He daily equips us with grace and strength, that we may receive the victor's crown (1 Corin. 9:24)
God bless you!
